Hygge, pronounced "hue-guh" is a Danish term that refers to spending time together with family or close friends. It is about unwinding, take things slow and be in a safe and secure shelter of warmth, love and kindness. Each of our Homes are designed to deliver that feeling of Hygge.

Happy Circle

Our approach is rooted in compassion, expertise and a deep understanding of trauma-informed care

We believe that children thrive in a stable and nurturing environment, which is why we embrace a family-modeled care.

By providing a home-like atmosphere and stable relationships, we help children heal from past traumas, develop healthy relationships and build a positive future.

Our team of dedicated professionals, including therapeutic practitioners, ensures that every child receives individualised care and support.

We prioritise collaboration and cooperation with different sectors and agencies, including education and health, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.

By working together, we can maximise the potential for positive outcomes and empower children to overcome challenges.

At Hygge, we recognise that each child is unique and we prioritise their voice and involvement in their own care. We encourage children to express their feelings, make choices and be active participants in their healing journey. By nurturing their self-confidence, self-esteem and aspirations, we help children break the cycle of intergenerational care and build a brighter future.

We specialise in sibling groups, recognising the importance of keeping siblings together to rebuild trust, develop healthy relationships and foster a sense of family.

Our highly qualified staff, who stay longer and perform better, provide psychological support, academic guidance and enrichment activities tailored to each child's interests and needs. Our homes feel like true homes, where children have the opportunity to design and decorate their own rooms. We have comfortable living areas, dedicated study spaces, and bright kitchens where everyone can come together for meals and shared activities.

Education is a cornerstone of our approach, and we provide comprehensive support to help children not just settle but succeed in the classroom. We are passionate about experiential learning and the use of outdoors to start to repair trauma and develop a sense of curiosity. We collaborate closely with schools and offer home schooling options when necessary, ensuring that each child has access to quality education.

Our homes are all based in the south-east so that children and young people can stay close to their roots as well as reducing the travel stress for social workers and children still having family time.

Join us as we create a nurturing environment where children can heal, grow and thrive.

Together, we change children’s experience of the care system.
